So. Much. Christmas at Gaylord Opryland
This last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN. From the moment you walk through the doors and into the hotel lobby, you are greeted with Christmas lights, decor, lush gardens & poinsettia flowers all over the resort. We checked into our room and headed off to grab some dinner and began our Reindeer Games™ Scavenger Hunt featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The Misfit Toys.
There are also other locations across the US, so be sure to see which Gaylord Hotel is nearest you and the activities they offer!
See all the current activities you can do at Gaylord Opryland HERE Be sure to grab a map of the resort or head to the maps situated near entrances in the hotel so you can easily find your destination spots.
Food at Gaylord Opryland
One of the amazing things about Gaylord Opryland is the assortment of food options. Whether you are wanting a sit down dinner show, event, room services delivered to your room or a sandwich from the Delta Marketplace they have you covered. Check out this page HERE for current offerings, shows and restaurant options.
Parade of Trees
The Parade of Trees is a must see, self-guided tour that supports such a great cause. Several top country music artists have put together their own design of trees that are on display for you to see. The Parade of Trees is on display in Gaylord Opryland Resort’s Garden Conservatory and Cascades Atrium through January 10, 2023.
Benefit of this cause is the First Responders Children’s Foundation. Visit HERE to see more on how to enter to win.
Activities in the Atriums
No matter the weather outside, there is so much to do inside the Atriums to explore, shop or relax. We loved doing the Wildlife Rescue – An Augmented Reality Experience presented by bubly™. It’s so cute and fun for the kids to take their pic with adorable animals throughout the atrium. We love grabbing a bite to eat and enjoy the Christmas fountain water show. Gingerbread decorating center, Holiday #selfie spots and of course the Reindeer Games™ Scavenger Hunt Featuring Rudolph and The Misfit Toys are just a few more things that are a must to try!
Pinetop at Gaylord Opryland
Over at Pinetop you will find all things winter fun! There are so many beautiful Christmas lights, Ice Skating (lessons available), Ice Tubing, Ice Bumper Cars, Pinetop Stage, Snowball Build & Blast and the amazing ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™! Head to my stories highlight HERE to see the fun activities in action as we visited at Pinetop.
ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™
Near the entrance of Pinetop you will find the entrance of ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™! This was an experience like no other. You step foot into a 9 degree air controlled (yes, 9 degrees) ice wonderland. Note, they do provide parka jackets to keep you warm for your journey through Ice!
Rudolph has long been a family tradition to watch at Christmas time. Getting to see the movie come to life in ice formations was mesmerizing. This attraction is a must see in person to understand the amazing craftsmanship of the sculptures and scenes from the movie. From adorable photo ops, sculpted ice slides to intricately made story scenes, this made our night and truly got us in the Christmas Spirit.

SoundWaves Water Attraction
Another attraction on our to-do list this week was Gaylord Opryland SoundWaves! The kids are always in awe of this attraction. With our visit in December, the outdoor portion is understandably closed at the moment. But that is no issue. It was raining outside and gloomy but inside there were so many options from lazy rivers, to pools, slides, rock walls, kid areas, cabana rentals and more. SoundWaves has a modern design, sleek finishes and an airy but warm vibe about it. Slide rides intertwine with living walls full of beautiful plant beds. We spent as long as we could in SoundWaves before getting some delicious food at its family friendly restaurant Decibels™ SoundWaves has everything from fresh & clean towels, sitting areas, massive restrooms, showers and changing areas.
The attraction is kept at 84 degrees indoors year-round making it perfect for the winter months. The beautiful and unique roof allows for sunlight to glow in as well. We love exploring in SoundWaves and cannot wait to go back!
Outdoor Nativity Scene
Just outside the Magnolia area of Gaylord Opryland you will find the beautiful overhang entrance and exterior decor. A small walk out to the lawn, you are met with beautifully lighted Christmas trees and a massive Nativity scene depicting the inn scene for Jesus' birth. Complete with Mary & Joseph, the three wisemen and their gifts, adorable barn animals by their side and angels overlooking the scene. It is a beautiful must see for Christmas.
We have pretty much decided every Christmas needs a visit to Gaylord Opryland. The rooms are gorgeous and family friendly. The views from your balcony never disappoint and are so relaxing in the mornings and evenings. All of the Christmas themed activities get you in the Christmas spirit and set the stage for such fun family memories.

I haven’t been to the Gaylord opryland. But I do live near the Gaylord Texan and it’s always beautiful during the Christmas holidays. I need to go see ice this year.

I have been to one of the ICE displays. I have never stayed at one of the hotels. I think that is on a bucket list of mine (I think… because it’s a little pricey).

I’ve only ever been to Nashville once just recently, but we didn’t have the pleasure of seeing this place! The pictures of the hotel look amazing; but I bet seeing the place in person is even better! Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Maybe next time my family and I are in Nashville again we can see it for ourselves!
